PCL Radiography is a program that aims to prepare professional Medical Radiography manpower demonstrating positive attitude and respect for socio-cultural values in their working situation for providing quality health Radiological service.The field of radiology has seen a revolution with the addition of many therapeutic, interventional and diagnostic procedures.There are many areas of sub-specialties that radiologists can pursue, and some of them include Interventional Radiology, Cardiovascular Radiology, Gastrointestinal Radiology and Neuroradiology. A quality radiography program helps prepare students for a career in radiography with radiography classes such as image analysis, radiation protection, digital image acquisition and display, and radiographic procedures.
Scope of PCL Radiography
Radiography is a deeply diverse profession with many different modalities and specialities. With health services increasing leaps and bounds, radiographers are constantly in demand in nursing homes, hospitals, diagnostic centres as well as super-speciality hospitals.
Radiographers can be specialised in more than one modality and even have expertise of interventional procedures themselves.Radiologists can pursue Interventional Radiology, Cardiovascular Radiology, Gastrointestinal Radiology, Neuroradiology and digital radiology in dentistry.
Candidates must have passed the school leaving certificate and pass in the entrance examination conducted by CTEVT and the selection will be based on the merit list in the descending order.
