The PCL in Nursing program provided the basis for advance education in various areas of Nursing by developing technical skills that are required for professional practice with kindness, empathy and compassion in maintaining and restoring the health and enhancing the quality of living throughout the life cycle.PCL nurses will be able to utilize basic nursing knowledge (pain management, basic technical skills, health teaching, and communication skills) to care the sick and injured people.Moreover, they can draw on content from other science and humanities relevant to nursing practice (eg. path physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, human growth and development, nutrition and mental health concepts).
Scope of PCL Nursing
The nursing profession can be considered as the noblest of professions for it is an art of caring sick people. The profession gives opportunities to serve the society and is in high demand in the present context.The demand of well qualified nurses is growing equally in Nepal as it is abroad. Increasing number of hospitals, nursing homes and clinics are the main reason for the numerous vacancies rising each year. PCL nursing graduates can seek job opportunities in public or private hospitals and clinics as well.
Must have Secured at least grade C in C. Mathematics, C. English and C.Science in School leaving Certificate (SLC) examination from recognized academic institution and an average GPA of at least 2.A three hours entrance examination will be held for one comprehensive paper (50 marks each for
English, Math and Science). The questions will be of multiple choices. Candidates must pass the entrance examination and the selection will be based on the merit list in the descending order.
